John Travolta’s Ocala Neighborhood Has Its Own Runway

Jumbolair, in the horse country outside Ocala, is a neighborhood built around a runway 7,380 feet long, enough for big jets. Homeowners taxi their planes up to their houses. John Travolta and Kelly Preston were among the first buyers there.

The Pilot

Travolta has been famous since Saturday Night Fever and Grease in the 1970s, and he came back in the 1990s with Pulp Fiction. Flying is his other career. He is a licensed pilot rated to fly large jets, and for years he kept planes beside the house the way other people keep cars in a driveway.

The 707

In 2017 he announced he would give his Boeing 707 to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, an aviation museum in Australia. Moving a plane that size took years. It was taken apart in Brunswick, Georgia, in March 2026 and arrived at the museum in May.
